Don't read this unless you first watched it.
Kahaani's definitely the best movie I saw this year.A friend posted on Fb.He'd seen it and its a must see for everyone.After I saw the posters and promos of 'Dirty Picture',I was hesitant.
Why do actresses go to this extent to publicise themselves?I haven't seen that one yet.Never want to.
Well,coming back to Kahaani,I did see it .Not once but thrice.Kudos to Vidya Balan.I've changed my opinion about her since then.Please do more of such good ones, Vidya.Don't fall for 'em item numbers too.
Now why I liked Kahaani?
1) Totally no masala in it.Except for some saalas here and there.You know what I mean.The Khan guy.But he was too good.Not to forget the main villain.
2)The movie's not very melodramatic as our films usually are,no violin or sad tune playing in the background.Only sound of busy Kolkatta traffic.Real stuff.Brought me memories of our days there.
3)The seedy hotel she stays in,her tiny boyfriend always at her beck and call.
4)Bob-the unimaginable shooter.
5))The shy,helpful inspector chap,her silent admirer.Cute.
6))Vidya's fabulous acting.Her beauty.She carried the film literally on her shoulders.
7)Her highly pregnant state,wondering how many pillows she had propped up-definitely a first for Hindi cinema.
8)Lastly,the twist in the story.I usually can guess the story from the beginning.This ending left me stumped.
Our older son watched it after much coaxing from me.He said finally,'First intelligent Hindi movie I've ever seen.'
