People having rendezvous with 'differentials equations' (yeah! the topic which fucked your mind in 12th) could picturize the symbol very well. A mundane symbol, taken for granted has an interesting history behind it. i never imagined the origin of this symbol would intrigue me that much. But then there is Dan Brown!
His novels are a perfect amalgamation of subtle wit, humour, mystery interwined with science facts, historical references, satiating the readers' need. Reading his work is a pleasure plus it leaves one in awe of his intensive research before his masterpiece is delivered.

lost in a make belief world carefully sketched by Mr. Brown.
