An author is broadly defined as "the person who originated or gave existence to anything"(significant) - wiki
Now I don't think I can even write perfect grammar let alone giving existence to something significant.
The domain of authors has flag bearers like Mark twain, W. Shakespeare, Ernest Hemingway, Charles Dickens, Jane Austin, Carl Marx to name a few. These intellectuals set free human emotions, ideas and gave them life of words.
Few went a little further and created a thought system, whosoever read Fountain head will agree with me on this or lets talk about the Tao of physics or our dreamer romantic Richard Bach whose creations gave new meanings to the word love.
From Illusions to The bridge across forever the creativity of Richard wove a wonderful tapestry of emotions, values and human wish to touch the godliness.
Or when expressing “Unexpressed emotions will never die. They are buried alive and will come forth later in uglier ways.” Sigmund Freud changed the directional speed of time and gave new understanding of mind, the mind which was not observed till that time but was only used for observation.
Freud changed and created something new, the mind itself became an object instead of residing behind the safe dwelling of being an authority.
"God has given you one face, and you make yourself another" wrote William Shakespeare and whosoever came across it could not easily escape the reality of persona being a fake accessory.
"Individual rights are not subject to a public vote; a majority has no right to vote away the rights of a minority; the political function of rights is precisely to protect minorities from oppression by majorities (and the smallest minority on earth is the individual)." wrote Ayn Rand and gave new meanings to individualism away from din and security of crowd.
I haven't been able to create something , I haven't been able to set anything in motion. I have had my ups and downs and I am learning more by knowing my flaws than by singing about my strengths.
Still I am not an author, I just write my thoughts.

How else, could one explain crazy theories like the division of brain/mind into compartments like ego, super-ego and id?
Sigmund Freud was a quack. None of his work has any experimental basis. I wish I were born that time. With few fancy words and crazier thoeries I would have been surely more famous than 'Fraud' :)
I mean this is such a common sense, how can something so immaterial as thought can be put into compartments? He was just a pretentious pseudo-intellectual. :)
Thoughts are translated to words yet while you are speaking you don't have thoughts in that specific order or you might be thinking something totally different.
While driving you are following a route, changing gears, clutch , break , accelerator and yet you might be thinking about the person you are going to visit and all this time there is knowing about the driving, the thoughts and the notion of self. Is this one space or various different compartments ?
I am not for Freud's theory but the point was altogether different.
It was about setting things in motion .
Else people would already have been justifying sex with their daughters and sons by now. How filthy! Yuck! And we stiill call this "scholarly"?
He said this is why we feel erotic when someone sucks the toe while love making, because the toe thumb 'mimics' penis.
Why are we discussing Freud here ?If you want we can have an article on his work sometime.
Easy is to criticize illogically, damn hard to be criticized logically. You are born in even better time to get famous, dear friend.
Author, you totally rock. Notice, I called you author :)
Frued's theory was to brain/neurology/psychoanalysis, what blackmagic was once to medicine or Alchemy to chemistry.
It requires a 'clear' head and simple explanation to make make a work scientific not necessarily fancy jargons. :)
