God creates roses and lilies in abundance. All are perfect in shape, colour and fragrance. Some may be small and some large. But all are complete creations.God has created streams and rivers everywhere. All are perfect creatures. That we have polluted some is a different story.God creates days and nights with clockwise precision.
Why then, does he create so many special children on earth? He does so in each country,in each community and in the homes of rich and poor without any discrimination. This question has been bothering me since my childhood.
If God wishes,he can give all of us perfect limbs,a well functioning brain and other other sense organs in perfect form - at least at the beginning. He can make us take birth amidst hunger and squalor. But,why does he make such special humans who have to be dependent on others for survival for the whole of their lives?
I think I get an answer now after so many years. He wants us to be humans first and rich or poor next.Yes,we need to be humans. We have well formed limbs, brains, education and money and yet we do not know how to live and let others live.God tells us that we can not live a healthy and happy life by loving ourselves only.We need to love others just for the sake of loving. We need to take care of special others just to make others feel better. This itself can be a very creative exercise - no less creative than writing a novel.
And finally,we should give thanks to God that we have been made ordinarily abled people so that we can rise above our tiny self and make some special people smile.
We give thanks to God when we get some reward or a coveted job or a promotion. We never give thanks to God for returning home safely in the evening. Can we not share at least one evening in a month with a child or an adult with special abilties?
