What it takes

What does it take for a living?
Aching body, mind revelling,
A hint of sacrifice, a little bit of hunger
A tinge of failure, not knuckling under,
Self-belief and Rock-solid attitude,
Take it all with a sip of gratitude,
Few shots to the head, the bullets of desire,
Let your heart burn in this fire,
And when you see it all coming down,
Still look up above, don’t look around,
And then when you win, sit down and smile,
Suit up, and walk another mile.
