How magical this word seems to us!! We are always so delighted about the weekend. One thing’s for sure, if weekends didn't exist, the world would have been a different place, and I would have been a different person! (lol)! It’s natural to make plans for the weekend even when the week has just started. How eagerly each one of us waits for the weekend! Don’t we?
I have work to do, projects to make, presentations to make, files to complete, lessons to revise, notebooks to complete and guys to check out all along the weekdays. But as soon as the weekend arrives, Boom! We throw everything up in the air and just forget about it until Sunday night.
There is something we look forward to all throughout the week, i.e., Saturday and Sunday, how sweet these words appear to us?!
I have to gossip with my girlfriends, spend time with family, go out with my lover, take rest from the entire week’s shitload of work, groom and pamper myself, visit the Doc, go out for shopping, make a visit to the parlor, check out guys (and maybe girls too!), check out online shopping sites, crib about my weight issues, bitch about my classmates, go out for a movie, think about life problems, meet some friends, and visit new places, all this in just 2 days! Phew!
All these small little things motivate us to get ready for the upcoming week, we tend to satisfy and entertain ourselves with these small highlights in the weekend, just to survive till the next weekend. There’s always a hope of something interesting happening in the future, to make our lives more colorful and lively.
Unfortunately, all good things come to an end. Weekend had this ‘end’ attached to it. And how satisfying it is to blame ‘Mondays’ for the upcoming week bringing loads of never ending work till you realize that finally it’s Friday! I find utter joy in doing that! That’s kind of how we balance things. Mondays- Fridays- Mondays- Fridays! That’s how our everyday life goes now. Appreciate it.
And here, I’m sitting in front of my laptop, at 2 a.m., writing this article on a Friday night, and thinking TGIF!!! (Really?!). So I’m ready for all the above mentioned stuff, and lots of procrastination, and laziness for the weekend, throwing away my hectic schedule, and keeping my mind away from everyday tension and all the shit I faced over the past week.
I think this is how weekends should be. I am gonna enjoy my well deserved weekend. I hope you too will!
