Is it possible that we stop preaching
Just for a short period of time?
Can we just consider taking a break
From mechanically distributing our opinions?
Instead of forcing our own ideas on the quiet ones
Wouldn't it be inspiring to listen- just for once?
In a world where all talk and none listen
The seeds of that art called observation;
Dry up and rot like weeds in an unkept garden,
-not from neglect but from over-use.
The silent observer is hardly valued in this realm of criticism
While the gregarious rambler occupies the star-spot.
Every human soul today has its share of comments
To offer in the vitalised group discussions
That have become the trend of the day
And the collective criticism that is supposed
To be the building block of an improvised future.
But does anyone considers the aptness of their own ‘words'?
Children today, however aware or unaware they may be,
Are quick to pick their favourites in politics.
Internationals affairs are domestically discussed
By professionals and locals alike.
From the vegetable vendors to the business giants
All have suggestions and complaints regarding the economy.
This is the face of a developing, modern world.
True. But there remains one question to be asked.
Are mere ‘words' sufficient to do the wonders
That we preachers envision and hope to possess?
No? Then why wear that critical outlook!
Yet, I can't be that decisive voice who has the power to act
'Cause until this moment, i've been no different than the rest!
