' Have you ever felt like you were awake and unable to move?'
The elderly figure flashed on T.V. His heavy tone and the quizzical expression in eyes made her feel as if the question was directed at her.She dropped whatever work she had on hand and moved closer to the set.'Yes' said she as if the man was sitting in her living room communicating with her and only her.
'Wanted to call out for help but couldn't?'
'Yes'. This question had been bothering her for sometime now and she wanted an answer. Didn't matter if the man wasn't there live but was on a recorded footage. Finally there was someone who could throw light on what she had experienced considered something of supernatural nature by her.
'Some presence hovering near your bed?'
'Not hovering around but entered my body through my feet paralyzing my body as it moved upwards.....gradually..very gradually.'
'Sitting on you chest trying to crush you? Suffocate you? kill you? Got up feeling terrified?'
'No.The thing actually moved up my body gradually embracing it,paralyzing it.No fear.Beautiful experience.Embrace of love and death.Felt myself in a state of bliss. Via that deep loving touch THE THING told me how much it loved me and wanted to take me away with it. Yes I wanted to concede to it's wish. But wait.. NO.. that's not what I want. And then the struggle started. I woke up.I tried hard to open my eyes.But THE THING had moved up my throat and didn't want me to wake up.It wanted to take control of my entire body,my mind,my brain,my consciousness. And then both of us leave together.I didn't want to leave. I have to be here. I have tasks to accomplish.I struggled to regain my state of consciousness.I wanted to yell. But couldn't.Finally I won and THE THING left reluctantly.Yes I was terrified.The clock struck four in the morning.I touched my forehead to wipe out the sweat. Oh! it was burning hot.I had fever.
'This weird phenomenon is known as Sleep Paralysis.'The elderly man went on to explain it's symptoms,reasons and cure.
'No it wasn't sleep paralysis am sure.It wasn't a scary nightmare. There was no fear. Only bliss. It's only when I woke up......OR WAS IT?
