Vedas (Samhita, Aranyaka) teach us that love of material objects produces attachment (raga) and separation from these objects of enjoyment gives rise to sorrow (viyoga dukha). This has been proven scientifically at University of Missouri, US through a new study that shows when iPhone users get separated from their iPhones, their cognitive abilities are affected adversely and also their physiological state (increased heart beat, blood pressure and anxiety). Such iPhone users are advised NOT to separate themselves from their iPhones when engaging in serious activities like attending meetings, taking tests and others. If the results of the study are proven scientifically correct, it would point to the existence of a symbiotic relationship between iPhones (objects of enjoyment) and their addictive users/owners (subjects of enjoyment).
