In virtue or in vice, in goodness or in badness, excess of anything is always and everywhere bad. Excessive toleration is as bad as excessive in-toleration, excessive kindness is as bad as excessive un-kindness, excessive generousity is as bad as excessive parsimony, and so on.

The above post by me is titled 'Timeless' because it holds good for all time: past, present and future. It is independent of what kind of civilization we had or we will have. It is as true on our planet as it would be on another planet, on another galaxy, in space or outside.
