I can hear the birds, and here comes dawn...
The sunflower winks at me through the window..
I walk up to it, and I smile back :)
At the most glorious bloom of the meadow..
It winks, it smiles, it teases me !
With its grace, with its charm and its perfect beauty...
And suddenly I felt the first wave of heat,
And truth dawns upon me, like a dagger down my throat..
My face fell, and she asked me, "why?"
"Soon you will have to face the sun", I said..
Her eyes lit up at the mention and she blushed,
The yellow being overshadowed by the blush-red..
My questioning eyes almost popped out !
"How come?", I asked, clearly annoyed !
"I love him", she said, and blushed again,
Somewhere inside me, ran a wave of prickling pain...
"How can u love HIM? This haughty, mean fellow?"
She smiled again at me and said,
(that delightful, wonderful mellow !)
"He burns 'coz he imparts his charm to me,
And yellower becomes my yellow..
He makes my tears vanish,
He lets his own image tarnish..
Behind that haughty face, look close,
Is a heart of gold..
He burns, so that I may live,
He burns, for my entire clan...
He burns, for he wants us to smile,
All plants, animals and man..
How do I not love such a golden heart?
How do i just forget all his part?"
The sun was now up, he glared at me..
I was talking to his beloved !
She turned towards him too, and together we smiled at him..
He burned even more fiercely..
Then I turned towards her, and yes indeed !
She was now at the zenith of her beauty !
And in the vogue parade she stood,
Singled out as a show-stopper would..
With all her beauty and her strength she stood..
Arms open in an embrace for him,
As if to say ,"Come, let's fall in love...."
