"Aa ja!", he heard her voice beckoning him...
A smile lit her face up as he walked into the room, she told him to light the matches and walked towards the still simmering pasta...
The bed had a small table on it, with two candles on it, he was taking the room in when she threw a matchbox at him. "Jala de, ek candle kitchen me bhi hai." As he lit up the candles, she got busy in the kitchen. Finally she came back with a plate in her hand full of pasta and turned off the lights, she spread some coke on the table, they rolled a 500 rupees bill and started sniffing it.. (Just joking) She poured coke in the cup he had gifted her, and then as he waited patiently for him, she turned up some music in her laptop and sat down right in front of him. The candles were unsafe in retrospect, one of them knocked off and fell on the bed. They both reached towards the candle holding it up, she placed it between two books and now they were ready to dig in to this much-awaited dinner of theirs...
Being the gentleman that he was, he offered her the first morsel, first she refused but then succumbed. It was delicious and she hoped he would feel the same as she lifted her spoon towards his mouth. She could she that he liked it, he praised her like he always did and then kissed her forehead, the ambiance, the longing,t the moment, it was all very overwhelming for her, so she did what she usually did when she was nervous. Eat.
He was amazed to see her so quiet, someone like her who didn't like silence and would fill every moment with words stumbling out of her mouth. He looked at her and she did the same most of the time until the pasta disappeared off the plate, then she proceeded towards the kitchen once again. She reheated the dhaba waali Dal makhani and gave him rotis. "Udhar side me butter pada hai, laga le, Butter se koi problem toh nahi?", she asked him. "Thandi rotiya hai butter kaise lagau?", he retorted back. "Arey nakhre na kar, laga le.", she pouted...
As they came to finishing their Dal-bhaat as he would call it, (It is "chawal" for God's sake), she stood up and collected went to put the dishes in the sink, he offered to wash them. "Arey kal dho lungi, aaj aur important kaam hai.", she smirked. She came back to the bed and lied next to him, taking his arm and pulling it under her head. They smiled at each other and stayed like that in silence...
But it wasn't the awkward silence, their eyes told stories to each other, they moved closer, his lips touched hers and they shared a goodnight kiss. But neend kisko aani thi. After all he was going to leave her in the morning, so they kept looking at each other, taking each other in. And then as the candles fizzled out, their eyes drooped against their own wishes and they fell asleep in each other's arms...
(Author's note: This is so freaking cheesy, but it happened so yeah whatever. No, don't smile like a fool, you really look retarded. )
