As she entered the gates of the college the earth beneath and sky above had no meaning or significance anymore.
Societal problems, political games, public interactions; all had lost their meaning along with respective importance as her dream was being realized.
This college was everything that she had worked for; sacrificing friends which formed an integral part of her life, dinners and outings which gave sent a whiff of fresh air through her bod and newspaper, which due to no specific connection with the exams weren't important anymore.
Each step through the college gates leading towards the admin block just urged her to pinch herself, for an ambitious dream had turned into reality; and she did pinch while constantly peeling her finger skin overpowered by anxiety.
Suddenly she tripped on the red sandstone path but she could not see due to what. What was happpening she panicked. The college gates turned hazy and started vanishing as she looked around. She was supposed to be hurt on falling, she thought. But laying on the ground she tried but couldn't move her hands and legs and her head was spinning. Confused, now her legs developed red rashes still unable to move. Drawing deep breaths, scared she put all her effort in wiggling her toes. Parched and dehydrated the poor girl passed out.
It felt as if an eternity has gone by engulfiing it those sweet memories of her reality which she had been living and now seemed like a part of long lost memory that were miles away from her hands reach. The unconcious girl could feel the sadness and longing in heart.
She opened her eyes. Dehydrating with a gyrating mind, subconciously expecting help from someone. A wave of icy cold breeze blowing around soothed her as it made its way past her neck down the back and finally resting on her hips. Suddenly she realized she wasn't wearing anything but a garb of flowery cotton gown that reached upto her knees and tied at her shoulders rather skimpily. Panickstricken, with whatever energy she could muster, she tried to move. So the dream was true, wide eyed she saw with a stroke of realization that her legs were tied to together with a wide leather strap on the bed.
Her hands were bound now to the equally strong but softer straps with a huge buckle. Unable to move, she realized the presence of beeping medical instruments with extended wires stuck allover her torso, arms and head.
