Where do I begin?
Haven’t there been,
Enough porcelain smiles?
Enough teardrops on the ashtray?
You were the endless dream,
And I, the insomniac!
You were the crowd,
And I, the deserted street.
I have seen the nights go dark,
Only when you sleep…
Seen roses that wilt,
Only when you are not around…
I have seen rainbows vanish,
And gray clouds take their place.
Seen butterflies fall down,
While you looked away.
I was a fool,
Who tried to cross oceans,
In paper boats,
Who tried to hide the moon,
In the locks of your hair!
You bundled my blunders,
And threw them at me...
Not realizing,
That I too, am living this life
For the first time!
