Being a Former Hacker/Blogger (Dont have time for it due to my tight schedule) i am familiar with most of the gadgets. You hand me any gadgets and give me a day, I will make it do something that it isn't programmed to do. You get the idea. I am always trying to do something more. Even tough it may endager the costly gadget. I still do these things but just say twice in three months or so.
The reason behind writing this is to hereby declare that the technology of today has already taken over us.
Now to speak the truth i couldn't notice this until the day i was done with my exams (B.E in computers) and coming home from college. I got in the First Class compartment of the train and sat down. I sat near the window, placed my bag on my laps and tried to sleep since its a 40 mins journey approximately. So i slept and got up after 25 minutes. And i see the person sitting next to me holding an iphone 5 and playing "Bejeweled Twist" (Famous mobile game for kids those who don't know). I just tried to get a glimpse of his face, and he was an old person around 70 yrs of age! I was like - okhhaay. To much young for that game grandpa. (0-0).
So i looked around (<- <-) (-> ->) and believe it or not there were around 25 people in the compartment & every single person was doing something or the else on his cell phone. One guy watching some movie, some guy surfing some thing on the web, A lady browsing her Facebook Profile, some guy messaging on whatsapp etc etc.
I thought - Shouldn't I be the person on the train who should be using a laptop and others reading some paper or book. Why am i the person carrying a book of Oscar Wilde?? Well no one on the train was interested in looking outside or doing something productive. Well i came home exhausted.
To my surprise my cousins had come for a night stay. As i entered the house no one even noticed as i came in. Everyone in the house i.e my cousins, my sister & my uncle was busy using their mobiles & Tablets. I was WTF!
I just switched of my WiFi router. And suddenly all of them screamed - "the internet is off!"
I said silently "I am Home, Alive".
Wherever i go i see people busy on their devices. "Dont you have anything better to do??". Kids who live in small villages don't even know what a tablet/iPad is. All they know is a black slate. I used to feel sorry for them but now i feel more sorry for my own people who have all these luxuries.
Facebook / WhatsApp and such social networking mediums were made to keep people connected but not at the cost of loosing close relations, which is the only thing i see today.
Everyone, I mean everyone keep checking their cellphone's every two minutes like they are going to get some award or a gift of some kind. People are so much being engrossed in the internet life that they are forgetting their real one.
People there is way more to life than your "Online" Life - And i myself, being a computer nerd is saying frankly.
Read a book, Paint something even if your worse at it! Write a book/dairy or just do anything productive rather than checking your facebook profile & WhatsApp messages. That is just going to ruin your close relations, nothing else.
