Summer holidays in India is pathetic for the kids, ask me why?
Have you observed the loads of homework they give to even the tiniest of tiny pupil to be completed just within a short period of time? Nowadays, they don't even give a full 2-month holiday, rather only a month holiday with so much work pressure, and if some people feel that this will do good to them, just wait till you understand what kind of work they have to do?
For a second stasndard student, they have to decorate their english copies with pictures, copying from their book, they have to copy each and every thing written in their book. I don't understand this, if it's already written in the book, what's the point of writing it all over again? Isn't it like buying another book for no reason? Especially when they do not even have to memorise them! They ask a third standard kid to make a solar system on their own. Wait? Are they serious?
They ask a fourth standard kid to make a working model of a volcano! As if they can do it on their own! Everyone including the teacher know that the parents are going to prepare it, or leave it to the hands of the model-wala shop and waste money. They ask a first standard kid to make a pencil pouch out of a 2 litre bottle of pepsi- asking it to cut it to half and chain it and decorate it. What good do they learn from it? And isn't it not better to buy a 10 rupee pencil pouch and keep your pencils inside it rather than doing a tedious hardwork which isn't even meant for kids?
I remember when I was a first grader, we were asked to prepare a model of a pucca house with interior decoration! Later after about thirteen years, I had seen the first year students of architecture submit these kinds of project works!
Heights of stupid work. Perhaps this is the reason most kids remain ignorant about basic education and they don't even properly know how to spell "Aeroplane" even when they are in fifth!
