Sleeping beauty
Smelling fruity
Golden as honey dipped buns
All day prayed
Nothing else mattered
Went to school of nuns
Nun she was made
Young whence she came
Worked within the palisades
Allegiance made
"service mankind with dedication"
The Oath she had to take
World War two
Demanded her
Go work among the soldiers
Army men came
some standing, some lame
lolled upon the stretchers
White tiara like cap
On the waste a strap
Black gown one piece she wore
Whoever comes
Bloody or twisty
I would serve them she swore
For two long years
Assisted and served
Aided and did her duty
Such was the tale
Of damsel that
slept in peace and smelled fruity
