My first reaction, similar to any other movie of John Abraham, was not to expect much from this movie. Just another bollywood movie with few item numbers to add on was all I was expecting. But, strangely enough the movie kept me on my toes till the end.
The cast have been jelled adequately with Tushar Kapoor in humorous narration and Anil kapoor as the judicial face. For a surprise even John seems to do a justice to his role and his character does deliver a shadow of Manya Survey.
Direction, story line, editing, scripting all of them give a good value for money and entertain you till the end. First half and second half are equally interesting. At sometimes although one feels an intentionally insertions of Item numbers. May be director seems to associate polygamy as an inherent attribute of mafia word. Guess its his call, we can choose to refrain.
What was the most beautiful part of the movie was it made us think about the connecting issues like origin of crime, situational aspects of life which make individuals land to certain scenario in which they hardly have any options and the overall role of the judiciary system on a whole.
The basic problem that needs to be addressed here is what should be a motive of a judiciary system. Unfortunately our Indian judiciary has only two aspects i.e. either to punish or to free. There has to be an interim way, to led the culprit improve/ make his life better and to guide him to being a socially compatible person. Otherwise, how can be a BSC grad with 78% in final year in 1980's, which indicates a fairly intelligent person who is determined to fight against the odds already present in his life, be given a second chance for things that might have un-intenioally taken place in his life.
