The school days are the best days of an ordinary life. It is from here that a child develops into a man. Schools play an significant role in building up a person’s physical and mental backgrounds. There are many such things which are a taste of delight for the students studying in school. School makes a person eligible to face the world, to differentiate between good and bad and also give a child an important value of life and that is friendship. It also provides a child with the best teacher in the world- Experience.
Every year in the school has many different activities which are a matter of excitement for the children from first class to the tenth. Annual functions, Annual sports day, Book fairs, projects and last but not the least –Picnics.
Picnics are one of best experiences of a school life. Every year a new destination, every year a new excitement and also new experiences. It can be a resort or a fort or a field visit. For higher classes they can prove to be a matter of a change or relaxing.
Picnics of our school were always ordinary rather remarkable. There were no picnic fees to be paid to our school for the locations were always closer from school and with the transport service of 12 buses which were owned by our school itself. And also all of the trips were followed by a great deal of discipline for we had to be present in our full uniforms also during picnic.
The academic year of 2009-10 when I was in eighth class, our picnic was planned to a water park probably for the first time which was located at a distance of one or two miles from our school. When it was planned and explained to everyone, everyone was excited. But me and a friend of me were different from everybody. We proposed that going to such a picnic will be a waste of time and there will be no fun because location was very near from school. But, actually I was very interested in going. The friend who also opposed the idea of going to picnic was a very irritating and talkative one and I didn’t wanted that he should come. And that was why, I was pretending to be going to be absent for trip in front of him. He also agreed to me that he was not going.
The day finally came and I was all set to go. I was happy for the fact that the boring friend was not going to come. Me and all my other friends assembled at there respective stops at seven in morning. The weather was cool and pleasant. It was the time of winter and the cold morning breeze was chilling us all with a slight warmness of morning sun. Everyone there was super fresh and the friend circles were all formed. The buses of our school picked us up and we started towards the destinations.
There began earnest talks about how the day was going to be with some glimpses of the morning landscapes from the window. The sun hid behind the clouds and only some rays were coming through them. It was called the Tyndall effect. On our way was a huge construction project in progress- Casa -Rio. Including all the stoppages on different stops it took about only a hour to reach the resort.
There was a huge hoarding outside the resort named ‘Kokan King resort and water park’. All the buses then entered the resort through a dusty entrance. And then all the buses stationed in the parking places.
There were roars from the children in the buses, who were filled with excitement. But my feelings are always eccentric for I was thinking of what our breakfast was going to be.
There were hi’s and hello’s from the window of one bus to other. Everyone was trying to spot there friends in order to get together. I was also looking for some friends through the crowded windows. I was hardly able to see the window of other bus. I saw a many familiar faces.
But then I saw a usual and a very familiar face which was also staring at me with a surprise and calling aloud, “Hey”. And the I identified the familiar face and with a great excited and bewildered shock I exclaimed aloud, “SHIT !”
