At the stupidity of the society? It's thoughts?
Well sometimes they behave in a funny way- funny or serious, well I don't know how to react. My mother didn't mind, rather laughed at it, so did I. Yet what pissed me off was that people think so bad.
Dad has to check the pump of our house daily to see if Sanjeev uncle (one incharge of switching it on and off, oso that water comes to the taps of our flat) has performed his duty or not, well he seldom does, and even when he does, others switch it off. Water seldom reaches, for a short duration- thanks to stupid neighbours around. Yet no one else is bothered. Well that tells us about how typical Indian Societies are :P
The story is not so boring, what makes it interesting is the fact that he does that in a hurry, while going to the bus stop to catch a bus for going to office, so he doesn't have the time to come up to the second floor, knock the door, and wait for mom to open it and then tell her that he switched it on or it was already done. He makes it simpler by waving at mom in the balcony, from the ground floor, and mom shows a thumbs up to say "I understood. You go fast!"
But then a lady once saw both of them doing that- immediate conclusion she concluded- "EXTRAMARITAL AFFAIR."
Else why talking in those hand-signs? She stared at dad, then mom, and back to dad for a long time, then went away, with perhaps thoughts in her mind to share it with her friends and nighbours. Silly woman.
She doesn't know she would make a great fool of herself, new to this colony perhaps. xD
