How many of you know about Batukeshwar Dutt? I didn't knew his name untill today when I was searching Shaheed divas on google, and stumbled on a wiki page of Bhagat Singh. He was the only one with Bhagat Singh to explode bombs in the central legislative assembly, New Delhi.
Few facts which you need to know about this great soul.
He was born on 18th November, 1910, in Oari village, Burdwaan District West Bengal.
He graduated from P.P.N. High School in Kanpur.
He met Bhagat singh and Azaad, at the age of 14, since then he was making bombs. He was very close to both Azaad and Bhagat Singh.
He was sentenced to life imprisonment and was sent to cellular jail (kaala paani).
After his release from prison Batukeshwar Dutt contracted tuberculosis. He nonetheless participated in the Quit India Movement of Mahatma Gandhi and was again jailed for four years.
He was released after India gained independence. He died on 20 July 1965. He remained away from political limelight after Independence.
He was cremated in Hussainiwala near Firozepur in Punjab where the bodies of his comrades Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev were also cremated many years ago.
His name should be known to all who know Bhagat Singh. He didn't rose to the fame of Bhagat Singh, but he really deserve more.
