We are a country of many.Too many actually.Many thoughts,many dreams and yes,sadly,many rapists.The mind of a rapist is not too difficult to dissect.Its infested with the dirtiest of thoughts,ones which we would shudder to think of.Rape is labelled by many as a sex crime.No,its a gender crime.
A crime which is caused by the sadistic feeling prevailing in our society-that men are superior to women in all aspects of life.Oh please.gimme a break!We all are equal.Superiority is a term for the egoistic,not for the normal human being.Right from childhood,women are derided by men,they are thought of as dirty rags,they are prevented from going out,prevented from living a normal life.Its downright disgusting.
Picture this: You are taking part in an elocution competition in your school/college with the auditorium packed with people.How many pairs of eyes stare at you? 100,200 maybe.Are you able to speak properly there? Now extrapolate this to the larger stage of life.People constantly staring at you,chiding you etc at every moment. Inspite of that our womenfolk excel.They excel with grit and determination.And what's their prize? A Rape!! Horrifying is such a small word then.
Hanging our heads in shame won't help,spreading the word won't do much justice either.Justice would be truly done when our mindsets change,when our men start giving women the respect they deserve.When they get good schooling and good value system,then only this will happen.Till then,words like 'gender equality' will only remain a pipe-dream.And India,will slowly be reduced from the present world status of 'something' to the future world status of 'nothing'.
