Small pieces of glass are so elegant. And it was life’s true paradox, as he saw her first time into these broken pieces of mirror – framing a surreal image in his heart. A lot changed since then into his stoical life. The gust of winds flowed a lot more swiftly. He felt as if he could fly, with all his wings on, altogether to a different world where there is no asking of rationality. And all this got better with every glimpse of her any day and every day.
The exuberance was heavenly, resonating her voice in his soul, followed him wherever he went. One fine day the boy decided to spill this fathom of love for her. He was trapped into that feeling of joviality, that feeling when one can’t contain the happiness inside. And equally perplexed.
It was a splendid snowy evening. The birds were chirping, showing their presence like they too wanted to be a part of this magnanimous phenomenon. The boy came to that lush green pathway of the beautiful lakeside. He wore a blue shirt neatly tucked with a dull white trouser, setting the perfect monochrome of warmth and purity.
The girl was there, in a purple satin dress with a flowery fringe at her neck. The sleeves hung gently around her elbows. The soft fabric graced her feminine body alluring all the mortals in the universe to fall in love with her.
They shared a smile as their eyes met. She had this best smile in the world. As she came close, he was demurred but still tried to pretend cheerfulness on his face. He thought to render all of this and assimilated all that he could.
She could feel his heart beating at an electric pace. He suppressed his inner conflict of the sane and insane. Outside was chaos, inside was calm.
He heard his inner voice and held her hand gently, “I had to tell you this”, said the boy as they stood facing each other.
“I want to make you happy”. The girl’s eyes were radiant as ever. “You see, life is hard enough and I do not need to make it more complicated by showing heedlessness to my soul.” There is this spiritual awakening for everyone at some iota of life. His was now and this was the moment. The girl went vigilant now.
“You complete me and I have all the things in the world to prove you do.”
“Or else, how could I go berserk on every other thing which you are not part of.” Love makes you say ironical of things so delightfully. And the boy zestfully did.
“No, this is not ephemeral, our life is. And believe me, my love for you is the most immaculate thing in this stellar world.” The innocence in her eyes coupled with the most charming smile was making vivacious illustration of her eternal beauty.
“With you I can see all the sets of imperfections fade in my life. I Love You.” She smiled at the thought. God, she is so beautiful. He can see it.
Tears trickled down her dark parched eyes, unfolding all the mysteries of the universe. She accepted this fact, this idea of being able to cross the bridge.
She came closer. The boy could feel the ruggedness of her hand. The warmth of being her closer reckoned a current in his body. Just as the longing became unbearable, she grasped his face profoundly. A tidal wave of emotions sweeped her out of reality, their gazes met and locked.
Their lips met. He could feel the sensuousness of her soft lips, wet and wailing tongue, clutching her body, surrounded with her aromatic incense.
She pushed him, pondering into reality. Ardently she said, “I Love you too. Yes I do.” And all his monochromous feelings were dazzled with colors.
As she pulled her hand, this brilliantly scintillating colored piece of glass, this time joined in a circular form, a Bangle, slipped into his hand. He could feel her essence in it; hear her breaths, like he saw her first time in those magnificent pieces of glass.
