Lending a shoulder as she does the rant
yet refraining from playing agony aunt
Helping someone back on the road
but pausing when he refuses his workload
Doing a neighbor a timely favor
unwilling his praises to savor
being friendly and nice to all
shouldn't mean we're always on call
Feeding the poor a worthy cause
may not elicit much applause
but teaching him a skill
is a better way still
Dressing up skimpily
or over dressing heavily
both are strict no-nos
prudently avoid unneeded woes
Gorging on fatty foods
comforting somewhat depressing moods
but getting up from table half full
is yet a better rule
Refusing tasks we really couldn't do
not biting off more than we could chew
prevents many an unneeded grievance
and gives life perfect balance!
