Yesterday I happened to make a journey to my home town. I passed through mountains made into tunnels ..dark and gloomy. Lit only by tiny lights.
And watched trucks and lorries and buses passing through.
Gigantic blue mountains on every side. Trees ...thorny ..flowery, green, greenish yellow. Brown, brownish yellow everywhere. Shrubs bloomed red, yellow and green in the middle of two parallel roads.
Unfortunately it wasn't raining or one could see the water shyly manoeuvre its meandering path down the slopes. Like a damsel walks holding a pot of water on her delicate head.
Leaving me open mouthed.
I return back in the evening.
Blues skies turning a dusky grey. The golden sun decides to call it a day. It dips in and out of sight. As I wait camera in hand.
How glorious! Simmering rays piercing through brown black branches as if teasing me to a game of catch catch.
Ethereal.
Then I glance at the passing cars. Some of them in a tearing hurry to reach their destination at supersonic speed.
Only to be brought down to earth at the toll naka.
It acts as a great leveler where big and small cars..the Mercedes as well as the nano...meet together in a slow slithering crawl. The inmates pass a sly glance at each other. A good looking gal shyly looks down as she realises the attention she caused all around.
Then the race begins.
Mangled remnants of last nights game sprewn along the wayside. A pitiful reminder of how dangerous the game could get.
The accelerator revs up again.
Music blares full volume.
A motorist notices the pothole just in time..narrowly misses the adjoining car by inches.
Tall stately homes whizz by in the vague distance. Makes one wish for the impossible . A weekend home miles away from the mad city. In the heart of a virtual forest. Where birds soar high and bees buzz in peace.
Where flowers bloom unpolluted by obnoxious city smoke. Tall conifers race to reach the sky. Air is still and breeze carefree.
Folk take in lungfuls of fresh air. Kids out in the open.
Beeep..beeep.. I wake out of my trance.
We are in the city again. Traffic moves at snail's pace.
Tempers flare..folk glare and then life just moves on.
The noise. Oh the noise.
Ah..just to be back among the mountains in the lap of nature.
Where stillness speaks aloud ..muddled mind gets cleared..and peace reigns in utter solitude.
