TV, is turning into a constant source of depressing reality!
I had a slight grin when Narendra Modi (read NaMo) and his party were insulting an institution that possesses a pristine position in the framework of our country. Blatant disregard of senior leader's obligation hurling insults was a spectacle I had never imagined would be witnessed by me. Yes, the authority questioned was Election Commission of India.(EC)
" I dare Election Commission(EC) to file an FIR against me" he said. Such an audacious remark from a leader who very well might become Indian PM by next week is an unexpected, shocking turn from the NaMo portrayed earlier. The depth of gross misdemeanor has been overlooked by the Indian citizens due to their blind love for PM prospective adding a dose of unfair judgement. But if the man has dared to quiz its decision and authority, which have never been shadowy or influenced, the independence of those institutions that strived to remain clean will soon come inder influence if he turns PM.
Whatever the vices of congress might have been ; multiple scams, unchecked corruption, proxy PM, they never challenged the base and fundamentals of democracy. They kicked economy, flayed the hopes of millions while shattering the last bits of public faith that remained in democracy but maintained the sanctity of the foundations on which India stands. Our constitutional norms, rules, regulations, limitations and guidelines are the adhesive force binding the country with elements of justice and public good incorporated.
EC being a constitutional autonomous body, many wouldn't know i suppose, is above our executive representatives(PM and ministers). Their order is a 'lakshman rekha' and each provision has to be respected by every agency and institution with unquestioned adherence to the directives. In the past few days NaMo questioned the fairness of some orders of EC. What should we expect next? Challenging or even influencing another independent body such as Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG)!
India has been through a lot under misrule and maladministration of Congress politicians.India doesn't need a PM who is, if not a proxy stooge, a force that could shake the foundations of the country leaving an everlasting impact and negative influence on the years to come.
When I saw this disturbing news, I was happy and still am, i wasn't swayed under the development ridden fantasy dreams of a right wing Hindu PM aspirant ( yes i am talking about modi!) and knew what was best for country. India needs a change but desperate attempts at grasping the best possible alternative can be harmful. I can wait for a leader that knows how to deliver the needs, that wouldn't challenge the future generation's perception of the India I am currently proud of.
