It was a cool bright morning
The sun shone to its brightest level.
I came running downstairs
To know what was your condition.
I knocked the door of room number 6
And the hostel was filled with silence.
Ma’am dialed dad’s number
I waited till it ringed back.
After 5 minutes when I stepped out of the room
I heard ma’am calling my name.
I took the cell phone from her
And excitedly talked to dad.
I asked him about your condition
But it was hard to express.
In just those simple words
Dad said you left.
And my happy morning
Broke into stillness.
My tears started to fall
And there was silence within.
After few minutes I shouted hard
And it was out of control.
I shouted on my mother for minutes
Not thinking what feeling they are going through.
We all the kids were together now
Like you always wanted to see.
All our wish was
To see you once for the last time.
We the 3 sisters were devoted to you badly.
You know grandma
The silence still persists.
In the house your footsteps still could be heard.
Your appearance still could be felt.
But all those stuffs you did
Have no occurrence in the surroundings.
When at night we play and shout
You seem to be smiling sitting out of the room.
This silence is something that could not be beard
Everyone around talk of grandma’s love.
But my love was incomplete,
Those years we spent far apart
But all those times you came to meet.
That smile in your picture
Gives your blessings to me,
But that lace of flower on the photo
Make the tears fall and take my glee.
