So it was just like any other day.I was coming back from coaching in the bus.Having woken up at 4 in the morning and 7 hours of continous classes,I dozed off to sleep as soon as i got seated. The passenger next to me was a young girl so I didnt care much.....After some minutes,I woke up with a jerk.It was one of those moments when you wake up with a deep sleep and take a second to recognise the world around you.And to my horror and more disgust than horror,a man somewhat above 40s,weird looking, frail, little stubble, shabby clothes was sitting besides me and guess what?!! His hands were touching my right leg(I was on the window seat). And no,it was not that "just happened to touch" moment,he was actually pinching my calf area.I was flabbergasted! It took me a minute to register what was going on.Furious that I was,and being a first ever incident in my 21 years of life,I didnt knew how to react but suddenly I heard myself saying "Kar kya raha hai?hath lagaane ki himmat kaise hui?Dobara karib aaya na toh bataungi tujhe...." and that was it! My voice didnt had its usual loudness but a certain firmness WAS there thankfully. The bastard didnt utter a word!He was behaving as if I am not visible to him at all !The man behind my seat had heard this but instead of taking a stand,I guess he was enjoying the spectator stands more. And that was it!That's all i could say to a stranger man who had the guts to touch me without my permission....And within a minute he got down to the next stop.I doubt if it was the real stop he had to get down to....The rest of the journey I kept thinking what all could I have possibly done..Maybe I should have been louder but then would then the rest of the people done what ethics expects them to?Maybe I should have slapped the bastard,or made a scene and throw him out of the bus...yea...maybe...but a part of me is still glad that I answered that creep..I know that would hardly stop him from trying this on another girl but this makes ME feel better....Maybe next time when it happens, and it would,we cannot deny it cuz accept it,Indian girls travelling in public transport have to face this one day or another...but I just hope I really FACE it the next time.....
