I had always thought of 'Chaand' as masculine but a recent post made me rethink it.
Infact its always compared for beauty and that may be because its feminine.
Some thoughts:
Chaand chupa baadal mein ... sharrma k meri jaana. Famous song. Its paradoxical situation. Clearly refering as male and then attaching an attribute of "sharrma k" with it, making the 'chaand' very gay.
Again ... "chaand ne kuch kaha ...raat ne kuch suna" ... raat is clearly female ..."raat akeli hai" ...right? so that makes chaand a male.
Again "chaand mera dil...chaandni ho tum ..." ... chaand is male.
Now recall all the movie dialogs where the heroine is compared with moon. Infact beauty is compared to moon. So moon is a very beautiful male object. I mean gay. Next time rethink before comparing your love with moon.
I would like to see some comments with examples of famous phrases involving 'chaand' and beauty.
No offense to anyone's feelings regarding moon. Also being gay is not any problem in my views, just comparing it to a girl is weird for me as of now.
