Many years ago, a friend of mine asked me : Doctor Das, "Can you tell me, what came first, love or hatred." I said, neither. Love and hatred go hand in hand. They are a pair of opposites like heat and cold, light and shadow. They reside completely within our brains, but at different geographical points or spaces. At any given time and with the same subject, they can not co-exist. My friend continued: "Can you have hatred without love or love without hatred? That is, can a person be all-loving or all-hating?" I replied: theoretically yes. But for that to happen, either the hate point/area or the love point/area in the brain has to be shut down completely and permanently. Such a possibility exists with advancements in science.
