Based on my own research and experience, being 'so old' and all. Love is not a feeling but a commitment. When you can truly commit to someone regardless of their so called faults or flaws, when the going gets really tough even when the sexual feelings seem non-existent. When you can commit yourself without cheating or withdrawing because the other withdraws, then you can say you love. This I assure you will bring the relationship back to a place where you both can enjoy each other.
I kind of strayed from the question. There are more than one reasons why people say love is blind.
1. You're infatuated so there are things about the other person you refuse to see even when they stare you in the face. Like when you are obseesed about someone who doesn't love you and you can't see it.
2. You have gone past certain obstacles and people can't understand your acceptance of the person or situation. They can't understand your forgiving of a circumstance.
So say love is blind, usually the one who says it is the one who can't seem to see real love.

Love is a phantom created by imagination only , havn't met one person who could have loved from soul and heart. As soul doesn't exist and heart is muscles. Love can't exist without soul and heart as its felt in heart (impossible) and originates from soul (no place to originate from).
