The other day i was watching ramayana. We all know about the character played by Arun Govil (the lead) .so ramayana apart from being a great epic is beautifully brought on tv by ramanand sagar. It is so convincing that we imagine their faces whenever we remember lord ram .
So, i happened to open episode 8 perchance ,which shows the confrontation between lord parushuram and lord ram. The angry parushuram is consoled by cute and calm ram . He apologises on breaking the shiv dhanush and now my topic starts.
The observation was regarding the candid and the carefree way lord ram submits himself to parushuram. The cheesy and cheeky way lord ram flatters parushuram along with persuading him the fool and divine figure that ram is in front of parushuram. Anybody can be that candid and fearless in front of a man if he has a backup. Ofcourse he has. He has the backing of the trinity. Ram was sent to earth by the permission of the trinity. He is one of the trinity.
Isn't it too cliched ?!
Ramayana as a story has been made too easy to believe .Destiny and divinity and what all has been mentioned to prove it's greatness. With all the predefined tasks that has been sanctioned by ministry of lord brahma to be done by lord ram. With assistance provided by lord shiva.
Dedication towards the aim is what is to see and learn ...
Conspiracies were hatched and situations created by trinity so that ram could go away with a single aim to kill ravana. The complete cabinet of gods is involved with a lot of politics. Atrocities and injustice on woman was committed(case of sita) ,and all for the greater good,to make earth free of ravana. Hmm.. feels like a lot of rajneeti went into it. After all a woman was made a scapegoat. People were made to commit crimes and sometimes even made to fornicate (devi ahilya) to prove the arrival of lord ram as a necessary arrival and made it legitimate. The foundation for laying the beliefs of the people so deep that cannot be shaken through ages was started generations ago before the birth of lord ram. He constantly flatters as being a normal being ,thus displaying the humility and non presence of natural characters like ego ,pride ,envy ,thirst for power .Which any other contemporary king would have being no god and a human .
So why do people look at Ramayan? Why do they equate kaikai as a step mom being their stepmom if she turns bad. Wasn't her part written to depart ram? Why is a couple equated to ram sita ? If that comes out to be true ,their marriage would be shorter than the western celebrities. Why do they ever refer to any entity in the tale that is solely written for a single person..it's a highway with no other car to block it's way and no speedbreaker. Ramayana seems so unbelievable yet one believes. Is that what every human desires to become or are we made to believe a tale that should pave a way and be considered as symbolism of some sort. Is it possible?.
This article doesn't have an ending. i thought a lot but i am still unable to derive it. Maybe you will think wisely and realy think.
PS: i am a Hindu . Yes, not an atheist. Indian that's for sure. (explanations are for the touchy feely people who frown when this topic is talked about).
