They say we can repress our memories. I wonder if we're just keeping them safe somewhere because no matter how painful they are, they are our most valuable possessions. They made us who we are.
Looking back, it's easy to see when a mistake has been made... to regret a choice that seemed like a decent idea at the time, but if we used our best judgment and listened to our hearts, we are more likely to see that we chose wisely and avoided the deepest most pain regret of them all - the regret from letting something amazing pass you by.
When we follow our hearts, when we choose not to settle, it's funny. Isn't it? A weight lifts, the sun shines a little brighter, and for a brief moment, we find a little peace.

As seconds become minutes, minutes become hours, hours become days and so on and on as long as we are alive, many of our old memories will fade or vanish, and new memories will come; but our brains will never be empty.
