If You Could See You Through My eyes
You’d see a beautiful woman, with a deep seeded fear.
You’d see someone afraid to love. Afraid the world will hear.
You’d see someone I loved with all my heart and soul.
You’d see a woman I knew so well, but no longer know.
If you could see you through my eyes.
You’d see a heart full of pain, pretending to be fine.
You’d see the reflection of my eyes, like I once saw yours in mine.
You’d see a woman, a girl, a child confused and alone.
You’d see me in your heart asking you to come home.
If you could see you through my eyes.
You’d see a selfish side to you that you pretend isn’t there.
You’d see someone you may not like or maybe you wouldn’t care.
You’d see someone that I still love in spite of everything.
You’d see someone that broke my heart and left me calling out your name.
If you could see you through my eyes.
You’d see a woman I pray for each and every day,
Asking God to watch over you and help you to find your way.
You’d see a woman for whom my love I would never deny.
A woman I will ache for until the day I die.
If you could see you through my eyes.
You’d see someone I miss when I’m awake and when I’m sleep,
When I’m happy, angry, sad and the emptiness makes me weep.
You’d see someone that’s isn’t sure what she’s really searching for,
And someone that doesn’t recognize her friends or herself anymore.
If you could see you through my eyes.
You’d see someone that laughs and smiles and says everything’s ok.
Someone who chose to run and hide instead of saying what she needed to say.
You’d see a woman I’d once die for, someone I once knew.
Someone that once loved the woman whose eyes you’re looking through.
