I am not gender biased or have any offences against the darker sex...but I want to justify the importance of LADIES COACH for any Delhi women who use public transport to travel long distances to their college, institutes and work places.
The other day I was getting late for my Cat class so I stepped in the coach which was nearest to the stairs, and to my nightmare it was general compartment. It might be looking weird but it was truth that every single man in the metro started staring at me as if I landed from a spaceship.... To my despair I thought I would get some sympathy from senior males in the metro, one of them pinched my ass. I was disgusted and wanted to get down at the very moment. I was standing near the gate and a hell lot of people pushed me out, and I got deep scratch on my arm..
When I got in again, every one stared at me, I looked at myself and tried to figure if there was something wrong in me.. But i couldn't find out.. I was as decently dressed as I could.. I wasn't even wearing anything short or revealing or flaunting..
And after I got down at Rajeev Chowk I promised myself that I won't ever travel in general coach..
People say who teases women in public place, but people do more than teasing in public places.. Never realizing if someone does the same to their own sisters and daughters...
What if a girl is wearing shorts or minis or deep blouses, it is her choice.. Who are you to comment on her or assume that she is available..
Because of such rowdy and low men a need arises for LADIES COACH where I feel secure, no one gives me dirty looks and stares at me from top to bottom....
And I am thankful to DMRC for reserving first coach for women...
