We call it our home,
Our dear mother.
But do we really care?
Or even bother?
Kind as she is,
Gives us resources,
To satisfy our needs.
But we, out of our greed,
Destroy her without heed.
Polluting her pristine air,
Robbing her of her green cover,
Making her bare.
Dirtying the water bodies,
Using her resources more than we need.
Killing our fellow inhabitants,
Making the Earth our junkyard.
How long will this go on?
How long will it last?
While we are engrossed in enjoying our life,
The Earth's heading towards a stage,
Which will be devoid of life.
Can we endure the pain and strife?
When miseries will be rife,
When mother Earth will no more have,
The elixir of life.
Do we not care for our mother?
Can we not be conscious
Not to hurt her anymore.
Can't we live in peace and harmony with nature?
Can't we be people who are mature?
It's time that we stop and think,
Because we are on the brink.
At the brink of destruction,
At the brink of gloom.
Let's save ourselves,
From the approaching doom.
Do your bit and save our mother,
'Cause there is no other.
Let's join hands to save our Earth,
To save ourselves from imminent death.
It does matter a lot,
'Cause it's the only Earth we've got!
