Hey everyone,
Hope all are scribbling/typing away to glory.I very much appreciate the way response to my poems/articles have been,on writerbabu. Having said that, I want to improve(As do all others!). I would encourage you all to suggest some areas where I can work upon.Also highlighting some areas for everyone in the site who wishes to write more beautifully about various topics..
1. The medium :- Whether it is through internet or through a hardbound copy, writing holds immense significance in the life of those who are passionate about it. So,try to put in your words aptly across various sections:- Newspaper editorials,Magazine columns,Short stories/poems by self etc.
2. The skill:- Writing per se is an intrinsic activity. Many people have the innate ability to express themselves through writing.Many don't. So don't worry if your words are haywire and your paragraphs are disorganized at first.Make an effort to write what you feel about any subject area.Nature,science,religion,daily events,soul searching etc.Organization will happen soon.
3. The process:- While writing about any topic, try not to deviate from the central theme you want to write. That's just not done.Its just like the sun and earth.You can revolve around the theme.Not deviate from it.Also,there are two categories of writing. One in which you write on impulse,say,you intensely miss someone at a particular moment or an incident deeply affected you for a certain period of time. The other is writing after thinking about a subject a lot.Both have their own charm.So don't think that your friend's writing style will match yours. Its not in the DNA!
4.The make-up:- Well, as pictures need post-processing to highlight their important aspects,so does writing. You have to have a catchy title in place,otherwise very few people will actually read your article.Also,you need to organize your article. If its lengthy,divide it into paragraphs rather than writing at one go.If its a poem,try to have a rhyming scheme to aid the flow.
5.The product:- The final published article of yours' should satisfy you.Yes,it should first and foremost satisfy you.Appreciation of others' comes in much later.
I am sure many of you must be writing about every possible(and impossible) thing there is to write about.Hope this article gives some important food for thought to you. Do lemme know about any further tips you want and also do advise me on the areas I can improve upon. Happy writing!
