I had some hard questions to ask Him yesterday.
"You weren't born a woman, then how would You know
what we ever go through
the childbirth trauma, abuse, discrimination,
it isn't just fair..
You should've been a woman..."
I complained
He paused, as He usually does before
going into His reply
"I did travail, in that garden
sweated blood..over kingdom of darkness
did prevail..
souls were born, victory was won
does that answer your first question?"
"Then," he continued," suspended between
earth and heaven, they scorned Me, mocked Me
tore off my clothes, wagged their fingers in glee
placed me between thieves, swore endlessly...
between huge gasps of air, forgivingly I bore
looking at the good lying ahead of Me
be a forerunner of the race man would soon run"
My voice gone, pride dissolved...
had no more any reply
He was at all points tempted as I am
yet remained He faithful and clean
so I have this hope
when I pass through stormy waters, I needn't fear
I can safely make it to the shore, clung to His brave shoulder!
