The ice was on the table,
The friends were giddy.
I decided to pen my thoughts,
To help the seething needy.
In their stoic silence,
They helped me find my voice.
In their friendly pat,
They helped me move far ahead.
Had it not been for them,
I would have stayed where I was.
My friends made me explore places,
Ensuring cultures didn't go unseen.
Their money was mine I assumed,
So we had lots of it to spend!
Their laptops and cellphones,
Helped me to get the coveted degree.
Somewhere along the city bylanes,
Our tea-stall guy serves with disdain.
In their notes and lecture snippets,
I found wisdom hithertho unknown.
The thoughts now come to an end,
For the ice has reached the bend.
I close my thoughts with a seal,
As my friends give a kick on my heel.
