The more we buy organic food, the more the farmers will produce organic food. This would promote our health and farmers' wealth. The community gets doubly-blessed.

its a one-sided argument... there must be disadvantages too... those must be taken into consideration .... :)

There are no dis-advantages. Our purchase of organic food is at a certain average level. If we buy more, it will do us and the farmers only good. The word 'organic' is an import from USA like many other terms and terminologies. Before the advent of chemical fertilizers, organic material was called compost by which name it is known in many countries in the world including India. Compost is a manure which is composed of many varieties of organic matter such as twigs of trees, cow dung, fish bones, straw, et cetera. Basically it is a bio-degradable garbage pit that excludes inorganic substances (chemical products). So, no harm comes to the habitat, and taste of fruits and vegetables is also better. I am telling from my experiences. Now, organic food is much costlier than inorganic food because the demand for it is low.Raising demand for organic food would mean more competition and cheaper products.
