My first love
The first time I saw her, she was sitting in a van,
Her head out of the window, I think she had a tan.
She sped away soon, before I could take a look,
But I was a goner already, a fish caught in a hook.
I set out the next day, a young knights quest,
Leaving no stone unturned, I searched with all my zest.
Days turned into weeks. But I found her at last,
Like a scrumptious meal, at the end of a fast.
I looked into her eyes, it was love at first sight,
We stared at each other, all day and well into the night.
She had a cute little face, with beautiful black hair,
All soft and fluffy, like cotton candy in a fair.
She agreed to my proposal, and I started to run,
The battle was won, but the war had just begun.
I was smitten by love, I had found my prize,
But I knew my parents well, they didn’t like a surprise.
Mom agreed eventually, after slapping me in the face,
Her once favourite son, I had fallen from grace.
Dad was a tough cookie, he put up a fight,
But I won at last, after fighting with all my might.
I brought her home, on a hot day in May,
After the astrologer confirmed it was an auspicious day.
It was difficult at first, for my parents were cold,
But she was so lovely, and her heart was made of gold.
Even my parents loved her as time went by,
My life was good again, as sweet as a pie.
Soon we were together, wonderful days and nights,
We had our share of laughter, tears and fights..
She passed away suddenly, on a cold day in December,
I don’t know the details, and I don’t want to remember.
So as my eyes Glisten and heart fills up with fog…
You will always be my first love, my dear pet dog…. :P
