Institutes, coaching classes, tuitions have all been a fashion nowadays.
Earlier when we were small, it was meant for those who were weak, and institutes weren't so much in.
Yet coaching classes for seniors were of course there, handled by very educated people to help the seniors cope up with studies. But it's a very depressing as well as amazing thing to notice the change in the pattern nowadays, institutes are run by anybody, anywhere!
I live in a residential flat in Delhi, and gusee what?
There's an institute set up on the roof of the flat, by three men from distant villages. When I was in tenth class, my mother decided to put me there. Students come and go, since morning and seems never to stop. Like the flowing river which keeps on flowing as if forever, from 9 am to 9 pm each day, and students' ages vary from tiny tots, who perhaps didn't even start walking, to big, mature, college going students. And handled by only 3 men, who teach all.
I had went there for three trial classes, and what I inferred was that it was all a time waste. The master didn't know a word of english, yet he was teaching english. I had some doubts in Maths, yet he didn't show up to clear my doubts. It was later I learnt he didn't even know the answer to my questions.
And all the students did for the whole 1 hour, was gossip about how many boyfriends they had at school, and whether they kissed or not!
Recently there was a sweeper who was hired to sweep and keep clean the institute premises.
A few days later, my mother went above to check the tanky, and she was horrified, that sweeper now got promoted to the post of a teacher!?! xD
Hilarious.
They claim of teaching everything in english. Students speak in english (though all wrong), and when they hear any parent approaching the institute, they start teaching loudly, in ENGLISH!
Do they seriously know how to speak in english? Or are they seriously faithful about the "Speak only in english" thing?
My mother decided to check one day. She tiptoed toward the top floor and lo, truth was all out, The master was ruthlessly beating a small kid on one side, and the other masters were all teaching in Hindi!
Yet it's so amazing to note that parents still come to get their children in this institute, which is completely a show-off! And students there, remain forever, it seems.
The whole day, masters scold some particular student named, "Devyanshu Sharma" (Yea, I got so used to the names that I remember most of them!) and the noisy women shouting for their children, "Divyansh!", "Karan" and the list goes on...
I once remember, while on my way to school, an institute for coaching classes for those weak in english was opened. And the advestisement was hilarious, "English speakna seekhiye!"
Are these the statuses of education providers in the country? :D
