Can India produce a Mark Zuckerberg?

Ambani sixty year old story ..zuckerberg 21st century .. big diff ..! Ambani had nexus between govt and took advantage of license permit raj . Zuckerberg ..encouraged at university .funded based only on an idea which might take off or not.(a complete risk). Had freedom from accessing technology which come naturally if u r in a top ivy league university . So yes india has not produced a zuckerberg ...but has created much opportunities if one wants to.
Comparison not optimum.

However the employment point is by far nice in a way.
Much needs to be debated .

I think more Ambani-material people drive off to the west. I'm sure there are many such people in this county alone that don't get celebrated for trying to make a change and corporates have a way of using our already corrupted system to get around with business, so even if you want to be the difference you'll need bags of money and a politician for a friend.

Idea of an Enterpreneure/Potential Enterpreneure are highly influenced by local market situations and prospective consumer base. Now lets have a look at this:

42% Americans does that

Now guess what would have influenced Zuckerberg in the golden era of Orkut and MySpace. While looking back at Mr Ambani back in '70s, it was of course a revolutionary step in current market situations were tough and while Industrial Revolution was booming in West.

Where Dhirubhai had to build everything from scratch which was the only option he could have in 1960 and developed it within country, Mark developed an idea and sold to the world, probably the best he cound do in 21st century.

I personally consider them equally successfull businessmen's of their times.

Also, if we talk about consumer market, have a look at this - Market share of overall Modern Trade share in market

9.2% India
66% USA

We'll better understand the difference.

Ambani's work is tainted by nexus, corruption and govt lobbying. I am not saying that Zuck would'nt have benefitted from any of this. He would have used his own system himself. But, TATAs score above Ambanis in an ethical run empire from what I have read. dont know the inner working of-course. Also, how could you on earth compare the two. Zuck's work touches lives of appx 1 Billion people - 50% of divorces in the US are attributed to FB lately..:p....well, there may be many more relationships budding out of FB as well..my point would be, if it were not Ambani, there would have been an Adani. If there would not be a FB, there would be a myspace/freindster/orkut. But the scope of the two areas is vastly different.
FB is a phenomenon, social networking was even a innovation. It entails creativity and some degree of conviction/passion in what you are doing at any point. however, Ambani's empire is a simple age old traditional business, a game which is played by many people and is as such not so subtle, so. Ambani would have been good at what he did, but cant compare him with Zuck, not by a distance. And I am not even talking about the likes of Jack Dorsey here (twitter founder). he is in another zone..

india hasn't produced zuckerbergs....and when u say that india produced "zuckerbergs" u already mentioned that america is far better than india { which is true } .... india cannot produce mark zuckerberg ... but it surely can produce dhirubhai ambani , tata,and all who made indians know who is zuckerberg !

we can produce guys far better than zuckerberg .... but they r busy working as child laborers in factories,tea stalls and even at our homes !
