Few days back Sachin awarded with Bharat Ratna... as a hardcore fan of Sachin I was too happy. but then in newspaper i witnessed few argument somewhere at corner side which generally people doesn't give much importance. Argument was about Dhyanchand "The wizard" should be given Bharat ratna over Sachin initially i thought what the crap they are talking ...Sachin the god of cricket nobody is comparable...hmmmm I thought dhyanchand was also a good player ..but Sachin incomparable ....but somehow I feel like... I should go in little depth and thne i find ...Dhyanchand actually deserve Bharat Ratna ....considering the time he played he was an Indian and ruled by Britisher so has less opportunity ...no ample resources... media was not that developed ...yet his glory reaches to world and he received award from more than 50 countries ............. Hitler himself was impressed by legend "Major Dhyanchand -->The Unbeaten Legendary Wizard Has it in him... he deserve it more than any other sportsman....."

I am not against that Sachin getting Bharat Ratna. It's the most Happy moment for all us Sachin Fans... No offense intended. I am a big big fan of Sachin

But Who is Dhyaanchand & Why Peoples asking to give him Bharat Ratna...?

Dhyan Chand (29 August 1905 – 3 December 1979) was an Indian field hockey player. He is widely considered to be the greatest hockey player of all time.Known as “The Wizard” .for his superb ball control. .Dhyanchand is most remembered for his goal-scoring feats and for his three Olympic gold medals (1928, 1932, and 1936) in field hockey.

The Hindi word Chand literally means the Moon Since Dhyan Singh used to practice a lot during night after his duty hours, he invariably used to wait for the moon to come out so that the visibility in the field (during his era there were no flood lights) improved. Hence he was called "Chand", by his fellow players, as his practice sessions at night invariably coincided with the coming out from the moon.

An english newspaper report about India's triumph said(on first Olympic(1926) win)“ This is not a game of hockey, but magic. Dhyan Chand is in fact the magician of hockey. ”

One newspaper on the first match, of next Olympic (1932)

" Perfection is perilous, for it tempts the gods. For once, this was proved wrong for even the god of weather paid tribute to the genius of the Indian player. Rain clouds, which had threatened to ruin the game, vanished into the blue, and thousands of spectators spent a happy hour marveling at the incomparable artistry of the Dhyanchand."

In fact, Chand along with his brother Roop, scored 25 out of the 35 goals scored by India. This led to them being dubbed the 'hockey twins'.

At the end of the tour, India had played 37 matches, winning 34, drawing 2, with one abandoned. Chand scored 133 of the 338 Indian goals. In Indian language he is known as "Hockey ka jaadugar" that means magician of the hockey game. It is said he used to practice on railway track and what he do is he keeps the ball on one of the track and keep playing it up to 1 to 2 km without letting it to be fallen.

In December 1934, the IHF(Indian Hockey Fedration) decided to send a team to New Zealand in the new year.Chand was appointed captain. In the subsequent tour, the team played a total of 48 matches on this tour, with 28 in New Zealand and the remainder in India, Ceylon and Australia. India won every match, scoring 584 goals and conceding only 40. Of these 48 matches, Chand played 43 and scored a total of 201 goals.

There have been many erroneous media reports over the years claiming that Dhyan Chand scored 6 goals in India's 8-1 victory over Germany in the 1936 Olympic final. However, Major Dhyan Chand in his autobiography titled “Goal!” published in 1952 by Sport & Pastime, Chennai, writes as follows:

“When Germany was four goals down, a ball hit Allen's pad and rebounded. The Germans took full advantage of this and made a rush, netting the ball before we could stop it. That was the only goal Germany would score in the match against our eight, and incidentally the only goal scored against India in the entire Olympic tournament. "

Even today, Dhyan Chand remains a legendary figure in Indian and world hockey. His astounding skills have been glorified in various apocryphal stories and anecdotes. A number of such these revolve around the fact that Singh had a magical control over dribbling the ball. 29 August, Chand's birthday, is celebrated as National Sports Day in India. The President gives away sport-related awards such as the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna, Arjuna Award and Dronacharya Award on this day at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, India.

India's highest award for lifetime achievement in sports is the Dhyan Chand Award which has been awarded annually from 2002 to sporting figures who not only contribute through their performance but also contribute to the sport after their retirement.

1) Before Independence When India went on a Tour, India Won 3 Olympic Gold medals in Hockey. In Olympic Games We Played 48 Games and Wins all of them.!

2) INDIA was Unbeatable in Hockey for 20 years. We defeated America in all the matches and since than America banned Hockey for the Next Few Years. Can you imagine what an achievement it was..!

3) After India played its first match in the 1936 Olympics, Dhyan Chand's magical stickwork drew crowds from other venues to the hockey field. A German newspaper carried a banner headline: 'The Olympic complex now has a magic show too.' The next day, there were posters all over Berlin: Visit the hockey stadium to watch the Indian magician Dhyan Chand in action.

4) How he made Hitler his fan..?
During a match with Germany in the 1936 Olympics, Dhyan Chand lost a tooth in a collision with the particularly aggressive Germany goalkeeper Tito Warnholtz he hit Dhyanchand intentionally. Returning to the field after medical attention, Dhyan Chand reportedly told the players to "teach a lesson" to the Germans by not scoring. Can you imagine someone challenging Germany citizen in front of Hitler..! He repeatedly bypassed the ball from Goal Keeper only to backpedal(didn't do a Goal ...just hold the ball near net and refuse to goal).

This was the shame for German team and Hitler was impressed by his answer on field..!

5) Legend has it that the Hitler was so impressed by Dhyan Chand's wizardry with the stick that he requested to accept Germany Citizenship and play for Germany & in return he will get as much as Money and offered dhyanchand the post of Colonel in his army, which Dhyanchand is said to have declined with a smile saying he does not play for money but for Country.!

6) Once, while playing a hockey game, Major Dhyan Chand was not able to score a goal against the opposition team. After several misses, he argued with the match referee regarding the measurement of the goal post, and amazingly, it was found to not be in conformation with the official width of a goal post under international rules and then goal post length was increased & latter he scored 8 goals..!

7) He was the only Indian who hoisted Indian flag before independence not only in India but in Germany ...!!! we were ruled by Britishers and not allowed to take out flag but however he hide that in his night dress and took it to Germany ..on this Britishers announced imprisonment but Hitler didn't let this happen.. !

8) During his last time he became So Poor that he didn't had Money to have Food, again he was offered a Coach Post by America and Germany but he refused saying if he teaches Hockey to them than India will no more be a Champion in Hockey.
but Govt of India didn't offer him anything & it was Indian Army Who helped him.!
Once upon a time he went to see a Hockey match at ahemdabad but was not allowed in Stadium Saying We don't recognize You..? That game was attended by Jawaharlal Nehru.!

9) Cricket world's legend Don Bradman and Hockey's greatest player Dhyan Chand once came face to face at Adelaide in 1935, when the Indian hockey team was in Australia. After watching Dhyan Chand in action, Don Bradman remarked " I'm a fan of Dhyaanchand & he scores Goals more easily than I Score runs.!"

10) Presidents of Vienna, Austria, honored him by setting up a statue of him with four hands and four sticks, depicting his control and mastery over the ball.

11) In Holland, the authorities broke his hockey stick to check if there was a magnet inside.

Do you think he should be the 1st Sportsman for whom all the rules should have been amended and awarded "Bharat Ratna"

But unfortunately he is not awarded Bharat Ratna But more than 50 countries have awarded this legend with more than 400 awards before independence

Hats off too the legend ...Hats off to the Wizard ....!!!
