One little incident flashed back to her one morning.
Years ago, when her baby was only a few months old, he used to be very sickly all the time. He had wheezing sometimes and she had to carry him around all day.
One morning somehow she managed to prepare some dal and sabji for the day. She made lots of it in fact. So actually she fed her hubby the same dal, the same sabji and rotis for exactly four dinners.
She didn't know why she did it, but her fella kept her on her toes all day. She was exhausted.
She watched, as her poor hubby ate the same meal each day. He never said one word. Nor was the slightest change seen in his expression. He quietly ate, got up and washed his hands.
The next day, her maid happened to hear this and she was shocked. She made sure she no longer did this to her hubby. So she sat with the baby in her lap as the mistress puttered around the kitchen. Every day henceforth.
And the hubby got to eat a different meal every night!
Years have rolled by. She feels so ashamed of herself till date. She couldn't for the life of her understand how her hubby could eat the same stuff and that too so silently. He never grumbled, never reprimanded his wife. He understood her situation completely.
Well, she just thanked God from her heart. For he was not the flashy dynamic type. Nor was he a big talker who could regale crowds. He was silent but strong. Sincere and ever helpful. He puttered around the kitchen when guests were about to arrive.
That little incident revealed so much of his character.
He didn't have to mouth empty words like,'I love you honey'...
but with his actions he portrayed his true love for her.
She's blessed with an awesome husband.
And that woman is me!
