ARISTOCRACY

ARISTOCRACY is of two kinds. One, based on merit. I call it Meritocracy. Second is founded on wealth and birth, as in Europe and elsewhere. I call it Artificial aristocracy. Meritocracy prevailed among the white Aryans of India in very ancient times (Vedic period), when persons of knowledge and character ruled. They were blessings to the society. This was the Sathya-Yuga or the age of righteousness. Artificial aristocracy is bane to the society. It stifles the society slowly and finally eats it up. We can see that happening to-day all over the globe.
