I HATE reading the newspapers in the morning. We live in such a sexist country, the abundant amount of stupidity scares me.
And I love writing. In real life people brand me as being too 'negative' maybe because I am so cynical and critical at a decently young age. But virtual space allows me to be who I really am. Furious and senile. I swear to God, the amount of times I blow up internally, reading about the bull shit around me, the energy could actually be harnessed to power the entire Hindi belt if not the entire country.
So apart from the old news about insensitive comments made by Shiela Dixit on women's timings of stepping out of their homes, to Mulayam Singh's "boys will be boys" to Mamta Banerjee painting all incidents of rape in her state as an attempt by 'communists' to malign her reputation, now comes the Goa CM's advice to protesting nurses not to stay in the sun for too long for the fear of getting dark and losing out on marriage proposals. Do not even mention the very dignified views of the two lawyers interviewed in that documentary, India's Daughter. Cringe-worthy.
I want to first slowly hit each one of them with a brick to death and then hit myself (with a fresh brick. I don't want to die diseased.) for my bad luck to be born in a country or in an era where stupidity is sprouting out of the earth at an alarming rate. URGHHH
