There are a number of interesting features about human brain which all of us, I thought, would be interested in. I am sure some of our readers may already know these scientific facts.
A)Brain mass is about 3lb (1362 gram) and 75% of this is water.
B)Number of brain cells or neurons equals the number of stars in our galaxy and equals 10 raised to the power 11, that is 1,000,000,000,00.
C)Brain does not feel pain because brain has no nerves. This makes it possible to carry out brain surgery while the patient is conscious.
D)Brain volume of men (1260 cubic centimetre) is about 10% larger than that of women (1130 cubic centimetre).
E)There are 100,000 miles of blood vessels inside the human brain. Taking average brain size to be 1200 c.c., this works out to 83 miles of blood vessels in a cubic centimetre of the brain, a very large number indeed.
F)Human brain has been shrinking for the last 28,000 years. What this shrinkage holds for the future of human race is anyone's guess.
