A seven Pointer...

A six pointer... A seven Pointer..A nine pointer...

In Engineering people don't have names they just have their pointers as their names or surnames!
Why is it so?
"Is it only the grades or sgpa or cgpa that matters?"
Is Engineering only about those damn grades?
Hell! No!
What if we had studied, survived and struggled the whole sem?
What about the efforts we made to learn? What about the pain we took to survive the whole sem? Is it only about studying & getting good grades?
Well, there are so many in my class who don't even have the basic current knowledge. Damn! Those 9 pointers don't even know the President of India! One more topper. In fact the topper of our batch said that he didn't play chess even once in his Life! And such people are gonna be so called Engineers! I was struck shock for a moment. Is Engineering only about the pointers? I am not saying we shouldn't study or score good marks. It doesn't mean I hate 9 pointers. But at least the basic knowledge that a Engineer, leave at least a human should have? About what is going on in the country, current basic knowledge?
Let me tell you,
The other day we were told to take the snap shots of our web page & include in our report which we had done as a part of our project. And two of my classmates (among which 1 is a topper) came and showed me what they had done. I was surprised. Reason? You will laugh at it. Being so called CS Engineering Student, They didn't even know they had an option for screen shot. She took a pic from a cel and is asking me about the Photography! :D :0 I didn't know what to do. Whether to feel pity or laugh! This is the current situation.What kind of Engineers are we producing? Where is our country heading towards?
Not from rural colleges or something. Situation in one of the most reputed & renowned Engineering college.
Basic knowledge? Common sense? Someone said it pretty right. "Common sense is uncommon!" Damn true.
What about the talents, our skills, our personality, our nature?
None of them actually care. Everyone cares on GPA! According to me, "Garbage Point Average!"
Though a struggle r, just get the tag of a failure?
