The sun shined brighter than any star perhaps it seemed yet not brighter than her laughter. The leaves waved with the wind from the west. She ran through the garden hovering her little soft hands over the purple bougainvillea flowers. Her little bare feet gently left a mark on the wet soil reminding me of a butterfly on a flower. Her long silky black hair danced to the music that never existed. Even though I never knew her I felt familiar.
"Who are you?" I asked having none of my physical existence.
"perhaps your conscience.." she said giggling.
" Where am I?" I asked.
" Isn't it obvious?" said the little girl turning towards me." Inside your dream silly...".
"But why??" I asked.
"Why?? Because its beautiful. Is it that astonishing to be at a place so beautiful? I always come here when I feel sad." said she.
"Does that mean that I am sad?" I asked.
She gave away an empty look with those pearl like eyes of hers.
" 'Every man is haunted by his demons from the past' you say. And you say it too frequently. why?" she asked. There exists so many unanswered questions about my own self. And this was one among them. I tried to think. Why? I answered her with silence.
"Is it because of the guilt? or perhaps a gesture of an inevitable reality?" Big words sounds different from a small mouth. But what she said made sense. Complete sense.
"Both." I replied. "I feel guilty that I cannot change whats already been done. I am afraid its too late." I said.
We kept walking she in front and me behind her. The garden ended before I knew it. The unknown journey took us to a farm, dry and died. I tripped myself on my way and fell.I felt tired. I felt withered. All hopes that I ever had, Seemed evaporated into utter nothingness. Now the warm sun started getting brutal. Every rays seemed like a hit needle piercing my skin. But she came to me with her head blocking the painful race of the sun from reaching my face. I could still see her warm and tender smile even under her silhouette. She grabbed presented my hand and my hands moved on its own. She helped me up and we started walking along the same hard passage. Then she stopped and started looking at me pointing at a small bougainvillea plant just rising above the ground.
At this moment I ended up waking with full consciousness with my eyes fixed on the rotating fan and my body resting on my bed. Then I whispered to myself "Wow.".
